Not Been to Korea, had some friends as I was growing up (Airforce brats, like myself) go there, they had the time of their lives and were sorry to leave... Every last one of them, including the parents had these Airforce type jackets with great big dragons, suns, etc. with Korea spelled LARGE on them... My place was the Philippines. That's one where Me da was sent... that and England... My advice is get into your seat, get comfortable, relax and hold onto your hat... you're in for a trip of a lifetime! Poor cats though, they will be SO glad to see you at the end of it. These days, thanks to the internet, you wont even miss much from this side of the world, very different from when I was an airforce brat... Lost friends every 2.5 years... Email helps so MUCH! Guest guest
Sorry for the OT post, but I have just found out that my AF husband and I are getting restationed in Korea (Osan) in May. I'm scared and excited all at once, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with Korea they could share with me. And <gulp> will I still be able to order EOs when I am there? Will anyone ship to me overseas? Also, anyone with experience shipping cats across the world would be great to hear from as well. Naturally, I am FREAKED by the thought of having to put my cats on a plane for a 15 + hour flight. thanks! JenB

Guest guest
Korea is where the term 'keem she' not spelled correctly of course, originated from I think. like 'you're in deep keem she', it's a food over there. Smells like dog poop. You can probably buy TONS of stuff over there for so much cheaper that you won't miss anything here! We'll be asking YOU for stuff! You know, those thick blankets that have pix of animals on them, Nikes, all kinds of stuff! And <gulp> will I > still be able to order EOs when I am there? > Will anyone ship to me > overseas? I was stationed in Korea for a year but in Seoul not Osan. I loved it. It is either a love or hate type duty station. I got to know quite a number of the Korea people because I lived on the economy not in the barracks or housing. I think living on the economy really helped me out. Otherwise I might have been very bored and hated it there. The shopping is great..... :-) About the EO's - You should be able to get them the same as you do now. Lucky you! If it has been in the ground for a long time it is pretty potent and that requires the " taste " for it. Guest guest
There is the summer and winter varieties. The winter is the real " Aromatic " one LOL You all were and are lucky! I was up on the DMZ No family, no pets, no nothing except work for 3 months. Stupid meetings! At least I did not have to go back for a full tour though. Probably would have been much better if I would have been in a city and further south:) Linda - There seem to be a couple different varities. It does smell but the milder version is not bad. Guest guest
Jen, My niece spent a year teaching in Japan and acquired two cats while she was there. She brought them back to the states with her when she returned and they made the trip fine. You may want to check with someone about quarantine regulations regarding animals interring another country. When she came from Japan all she was required to have was a statement of vaccinations and health for the cats to come into the country without having to be quarantined. When she relocated to Australia to live she elected not to take the cats with her because of the extended quarantine time required so for entrance into the country. Just something to check before hand so there are no surprises.
