Hey Holly-

I have experience dealing with these. My sister and my cousin get these occasionally. The herbal snuff formula is fantastic for these. The formula ingredients are below. Basically what you want to do is sniff this formula up your nose. But please start slow. Put like a pin head amount up each nostril, close the other one, and snort. Start with a small amount first, you can always increase your dosage. I would do this as many times the first day as you can. Then a few times for the next few days. This will handle your sinus infection very quickly.

My cousin took a trip to California and right when he landed he called me up and said he had a nasty sinus infection coming on. I told him to go to a local health food store and get the ingredients below. He didn't find the bayberry bark powder, but he got all the rest. He did a little too much the first round and he was burning for a few minutes, but after the burn the sinus infection was completely gone!!!

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions...

Hi Holly :)

I'm sorry to hear about your sinus trouble! Fortunately, you have

plenty of options. Forgive me, as this got long (true to form!)

This may sound very strange, but sometimes, allergies and other

prolonged sinus problems can actually be due to a tight muscle in the

neck. No joke. The sternocleidomastoid (SCM) is a muscle that runs

from the bony prominence behind your ear all the way to where your

clavicles and sternum meet. They make 2 sides of the triangular soft

vulnerable spot on your throat. On most people, the SCM is very

tight. Tight doesn't always equate to painful, so you may never know

that it's tight. But there may be signs. This muscle, like all

muscles, can develop problem spots called " trigger points " that can

refer pain to other areas that aren't seemingly associated with the

trigger point-affected muscle. Ever had a migraine? Chances are VERY

GOOD that the problem is in that one little muscle, the SCM. Trigger

Points in the SCM have such strange and diverse referral patterns that

they can refer pain just about anywhere. Not only do these trigger

points refer pain, but they can also mimick actual health conditions

like ear infections (I've actually experienced this, just a few nights

ago), heart attacks, etc. They don't CAUSE these conditions, just

mimick them. So you might think you have an ear infection, but you

don't. Release the problem spot in the muscle, and the problem clears

up. In addition to referring pain and mimicking other problems, this

muscle also can impinge nerves, put pressure on blood vessels, and

even prevent lymphatic drainage from above. Sinuses can get stopped

up because they are not allowed to drain.

So what would cause these trigger points? Practically anything: a

sudden fall, braking suddenly in traffic, a doctor using foreceps

during your birth, sleeping wrong, stress, spending too much time at

the computer, or any other kind of repetitive strain injury, etc.

EVERYBODY has trigger points SOMEWHERE.

My point to this is, give a massage therapist a shot. Sure, I'm a

therapist, but I'm not out to promote my own business. I don't care

who people go see for therapy, just as long as they are able to get

relief and start the road back to healing. Your particular problem

may not be caused by this muscle, but it may be worth a shot,

especially if nothing else works or it keeps coming back.

I had recurrent ear infections (not mimicked by SCM :) ) because the

fluid in my eustacian tubes wouldn't drain properly (that WAS probably

due to SCM), and at age 14 I finally found the biggest relief I've

ever gotten from them by seeing a chiropractor. He adjusted my locked-

up neck and voila--the fluid drained and within 3 hrs I was breathing

better and hearing better than I ever had before. So that's another

option to try. Chiropractic and massage, by the way, go together like

hand & glove!

Others have had fantastic success with acupuncture for allergies/sinus

problems. Acupuncture usually involves needles, but does NOT hurt.

Budget a half hour of time to lay quietly with needles in you.

Meditate and feel the energy blockages unravel. It's subtle, but, if

you're paying attention, trippy ;)

And then, as a reinforcer, take Fenu-thyme. It's a synergistic

combination of the herbs fenugreek and thyme found in capsule form at

your health food store. They work like herbal sudafed without the

drowsiness. They clear up congestion. But since the whole idea of

natural health is to find and eliminate the cause and NOT just treat

symptoms (see my earlier preachings ;) ) use the Fenu-thyme only to

reinforce the chiropractic, massage, or acupuncture for optimal

healing.

That's what I could think of on the fly. Feel free to contact me for

any clarification, additional info, or to think of more optoins. That

should get you started, hope it wasn't too overwhelming :)

Hope that helps! Good luck!

Blessings,

Dear Jyoti,

Excellent take on this problem. I enjoyed it tremendously.

Acupuncture / Acupressure are great Naturopathic Sciences that are all too neglected. When used with Herbal approaches, very dramatic healings can occur over a very short period of time.

Love,
