Hello Group...I have been a member for a while now...there's so many great posts...I have recently been diagnosed with a couple heart conditions...Premature Ventrical Contractions (PVC's) and Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP) Neither are life threatening, but really bothersome at times...I have been reading a lot about the two conditions and the symptoms they can creat within a person's body...there are MANY, unfortunately...the meds they tried to get me to take about killed me, as they dropped my pulse down to 39...I'm no longer taking the meds, as they said I can learn to tolerate the discomfort if that is my choice...but what I'm seeing is that a lacking in Magnesium & Patassium can cause most of these symptoms...which at one point at the ER they said both were a tad low...I felt much better after the administered an IV drip containing the two...would someone please share with me their ideas on what I could use to level out these low levels...even if it's just a suggestion of a food that contains these vitamins...I really donnot want to feel forced into taking these dreaded meds for the rest of my life...I'm only 40...Thank you so much for your time, Blessings, Robin

Hi Lisa,

I just came from the files section - and didn't see this file

there. Can you tell me where exactly to look?

Thanks

Jeanne

Just happen to be reading about this today.

According to the book Healing With Vitamins:

Magnesium

Daily Value: 400 milligrams

Good Food Sources: Brown rice, avocados, spinach, haddock, oatmeal, baked potatoes, navy beans, lima beans, broccoli, yogurt, bananas

"Prescription asthma drugs, diuretics (water pills), digitalis and other cardiovascular medications, alcohol, and caffeine are notorious for removing magnesium from the body."

Potassium

Daily Value: 3,500 milligrams

Good Food Sources: Dried apricots, baked potatoes, dried prunes, cantaloupe, bananas, spinach

"Aside from its miraculous effect on blood pressure, potassium is also necessary for good muscle contraction, healthy electrical activity in the heart and rapid transmission of nerve impulses throughout the body. This is why heartbeat irregularities are considered a classic sign of potassium deficiency. Other symptons of deficiency can include muscle weakness, numbness and tingling in the lower extremities, nausea, vomiting, confusion and irritability."

I take the formula recommended by Doc, which is one part Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (unfiltered) to one part Organic Unsulphured Blackstrap Molasses. Molasses is a great way to get Magnesium and Potassium. Orange juice and bananas are great for potassium also.
