has anyone used msm for cleansing and if so have you had a lot of

itching and numbness. My chest and arms go partially numb and itch

like mad for a few days. There is not supposed to be any side effects

with this stuff at all. Am I just real contaminated? In the mean time

I will take smaller doses and try that. dave

If you are detoxing, you WILL feel some side effects from MSM.. but I have heard of mainly loose stools, etc.. you may be ridding the body of toxins through your skin (biggest organ, actually). If you have problems, I suggest you cut down to 1/4 teaspoon a day a few days, increasing it slowly up to a tablespoon daily. Take lots of hot/cold baths/showers to help rid the toxins, too. I, personally, would also drink some sort of herbal tea to help cleanse the liver/kidneys (burdock root, etc).

Good luck and don't give up.. just take it more slowly and you will feel great after a while.

I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has strange allergies to herbal treatments. My Holistic practioner (or whatever you call them) is totally shocked that I can be allergic to herbs and vitamins. I was taking Ginger/Peppermint for Acid reflux, instead of it helping, it made it much worse and for most people Juniper is a naturally diuretic (sp) but for me, it makes me retain fluid. And the MSM is making me itch like you all are talking about, but I was beginning to think it was something else. Happy Thanksgiving to all from Texassusan <susan134 wrote: I tried msm once. I've read more posts concerning allergic-reactions to *MSM* (Dietary-

Sulfur) than any other substance in the yr. or so I've been reading.

I don't know why this is. Hard-Boiled Egg-Yolks are high in Sulfur.

Maybe some Nutrient-co.'s get natural-sulfur from inferior sources.

Make sure the MSM looks pure yellow and should be powder or tablet.

The only herb I have a problems with (so far) is skullcap. I get jittery when I take it. As for acid re-flux, try calendula...does wonders for me. What I took msm, I took several different dosages in all different

time frames but every time I felt so jittery like I just drank 10 cups

of coffee---Also I am hypoglycemic and when I took that my sugar was

all over the place. No matter when or what I ate, I had attacks

several times a day. Basically I took it for 2 months and felt just

awful the whole 2 months and chalked it up to not being able to take

it nor wanting to take it. I think some people for whatever reason

cannot tolerate it.

I just can't get over how many people react negatively to MSM!

There has got to be a reason...prob. the MSM becomes Rancid easily.

MSM is " Dietary-Sulfur " . Dietary-Sulfur found in eggs and Veggies;

esp. Cruciferous Veggies such as Cabbage Brocloi Brussel sprouts etc.

I am not sure abou this, but maybe because the msm in capsule form is not a natural source?Anne <anne_white53 wrote: I just can't get over how many people react negatively to MSM!There has got to be a reason...prob. the MSM becomes Rancid easily.MSM is "Dietary-Sulfur". Dear Dave,

This reaction IS indicative of being toxic and having toxic skin. It also indicates that your body has absorbed too much radiation over the years, most likely from different sources including sun burn.

This then can bring about hives and other skin ailments.

Your solution of taking smaller doses is the correct one. You want to continue the detox that you've started.

If you'd like to speed up the process, also start taking 100 Mg of Niacin a day. This can really turn it on, but will also eventually turn it off and terminatedly handle it.

Hope this helps.

Dear Gina,

This is because it's not a true allergy in most cases.

What it means is that these items, for the most part, are turning on such a violent detox, that it becomes or looks like a shock or an illness / bad reaction as far as the body's concerned. What you need to do is cut back to Homeopathic doses = very light herbal doses, until the condition reverses.

Our bodies sometimes operate on reverse vectors. That which is bad for them, it loves, and that which is good it can't tolerate.

This is why I caution those who say, "You need to listen to your body" with this information.

Sometimes bodies can be dumber than a bag of hammers and will lie to you. You have to look at the overall picture and sometimes this takes a bit of time. You can't always go by the instant gratification or the instant rejection communications of the body.

Ya gotta use your head. ;-)
