Guest guest
Hello all! I'm new here and am already enjoying reading all your posts...and have learned a lot! My questions is this: I have a sister-in-law who is addicted to caffeine (Diet Coke). She says that it is the only way that she is able to keep up with her 3 year old and part time teaching job. She has a degenerative muscle disease and only one working kidney (which she gets lots of kidney stones in by the way) and was wondering if there is anything more natural (gentle because of her kidney) that she could use and try to wean herself off of the coke. Any advice/articles about the dangers of diet sodas and what she could do to boost her energy naturally would be appreciated! Guest guest
I don't have anything to offer regarding weaning off diet coke, but I can share with you how I've dramatically increased my energy level. I have completely changed my diet, eliminating nearly all processed food. I cook everything from scratch using organic foods whenever possible. I " eat a wide variety of food, in moderation, as close to its natural state as possible. " I avoid processed flours and sugars, as well as anything made of a chemical mix rather than real, whole food. My energy level is so much higher than it used to be. Sometimes I'm just so amazed. I found that when I started adding whole, unprocessed foods, my desire for processed foods just disappeared. I simply don't want it anymore. If your sister-in-law started adding whole, unprocessed foods to her diet, and started drinking pure water, I believe that her desire for all things processed would be lessened. Guest guest
Probably what is making her addicted is the Aspartame in the diet coke - this substance is in 99% of the "dietsugar-free" items and needs to be avoided. You can search the internet for references on Aspartame - not something I'd recommend for anyone, let alone someone who already has a compromised kidney!! She needs to do some serious cleansing to heal her body. A good place to start would be the Total Nutrition!! This will give her the much needed nutrients and increase her energy level. love Lisa - Cecilia Leming herbal remedies Thursday, November 24, 2005 9:46 PM Herbal Remedies - Caffeine dependant Hello all!I'm new here and am already enjoying reading all your posts...and have learned a lot!My questions is this: I have a sister-in-law who is addicted to caffeine (Diet Coke). Such sweeteners include: Lo Han Fruit Extract (SlimSweet, SugarNot) R.W. Knudsen Diet Spritzers sweetened with Lo Han Concentrate (Order at local natural foods store.)
