I have a question about kelp. I had my last baby 4 years ago and

remember that I was around 190 lbs. Since I was breastfeeding I didn't

really try to loose the weight and let it come off naturally. About 2

years ago she finally stopped nursing and I could finish loosing the

weight. I got down to a size 5 about a year ago and that was perfect

for me. I slowed down my exercising so that I could just maintain

where I was and not loose anymore but not gain either. About 2 months

ago a lady that was a guest at the hotel I work at had long beautiful

hair so I asked her what her secret was and she told me that she takes

Kelp. I started taking it a few days later. Well two months have

passed and ALL of my clothes ar falling off and the only thing

different that I have done is take Kelp. WIll that make me loose

weight so fast???

Thanks so much,

Tuesday

Yes Tuesday,

Kelp can help you loose weight. Kelp is a thyroid support and the thyroid helps moderate your metabolism. So the kelp has probably boosted your thyroid which has turned up your metabolism.

I've been fighting weight gain for about a year now. Still disgusted after months of exercise and every diet under the sun, I looked up metabolism, found out about thyroid then found kelp, whick I've been taking and within about 5 weeks dropped a size.

So I think you are right on with your assumption. For hair, skin, and nails, you can always take Horsetail, also known as 'shavegrass'. It's also good for the intestines. You can take it in capsules or make it into a tea - hot or cold.

Gabbie,

I think if I would be better about my diet and not eat so much crap (been binging lately, boo) then I'd still be losing. But I havent gained. Yeah!

I take two 00 capsules twice a day. I made my own. I belong to an herb co-op out of Iowa (don't know if I'm allowed to say the name).

Debra,

I know that co-op that you are talking about. I use to belong to

one when I lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

I love their stuff. I didn't know that they had kelp.

Is the kelp in pill form? How about the horsetail, is it also in pill form? Also, i recently found out I am pregnant with our second child and i am on pre-natal vitamins...so should i wait until after the baby is born to take the horsetail? Of course i need to hold off on the kelp..lol...i do not want to be losing weight.

Thank you!

Jasmine,

I believe that you can take the horsetail now. You can make it as a tea or grind it down to a powder to take in a capsule. It's great for your hair, skin and nails as well as your intestines. Im not aware of any contraindications.
