Guest guest
Hi, I have this new patient who is coming to see me next week who has Dupuytren's contracture. It is a condition where the " fibrous tissue beneath the skin of the palm and fingers thickens. This in turn forms a abnormal thickening of the diseased fascia, which forms a band, cord or pit and is known as Dupuytren's contracture " . From my phone conversation with her she has a thickening of the skin, less sensitivity, rough skin as if was burnt and dry and fingers contracted, thus causing limitation of hand movement. I haven't seen her yet so I can't give any tongue and pulse diagnosis but I wondered if anyone had any experience with this. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks May
Guest guest
Yes May, I have treated a few people with this condition and results have generally been very favourable. Of course it will depend on the presenting pattern, but common points that I have used include P6, P7, P8, HT 7, Ht8, Sj5, Liv 3, Sp6, Si3 and Bl 62 Watch out for issues with the lower leg on the opposite side.
