Guest guest
Hi all, Taken from: http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/uknews/news20051222.shtml#10 Both the Daily Mail and the Daily Express feature the news that research by the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, has suggested that green tea may help to treat leukaemia in adults. Of four patients who started drinking the tea or taking its extracts in tablet form, three showed clear improvements in their conditions in the following months. Earlier research has shown that the drink can prevent people from getting cancer, but this is the first study to suggest it may actually kill cancer cells and reverse the hold which the disease has on some patients. Green tea contains a compound in the leaves known as epigallocatchin gallate, an antioxidant which can cleanse the body of free radicals.
