Guest guest
Hi Everybody! The Florida Acupuncture Licensing authority issued a number of acupuncturists, myself included, licenses that expire on Friday, February 29, 2008. They now have issued us new licenses, at an indeterminate cost (which will show up in our next renewal fee) that expire on Thursday, February 28, 2008, one day earlier. We are asked to send the incorrect licenses back, at our own expense. There are perhaps 1000 active licensees. If they all have to send their licenses back this is about $1000 - a buck apiece - stamp, envelope, a little time. The new licenses and the request to send them back, generated by the government as it was, the way government does things, probably cost $20,000 unless I am overlooking something and it cost a *million*. For one day? A Friday at that? Not to *ever* question the infinite wisdom of the acupuncture authority or *anything* like that, but . . . You know, this seems to illustrate some of the things that have been discussed from time to time here about our leadership.
