Hi

 

Does anyone have any experiences in treating Prostate enlargement and

benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with acupuncture and/or herbs?

 

In that case I would be most thankful for any/all information!

Dear Carl Hi,

 

I have treated a couple of patients with success .I

considered it as dampness in the lower jiao .

 

points that I have used with success .

sp6/sp9 for dampness.

ren 3 for its action in UB.

 

pc 6 and liver 3 for their action of liver qi

harmonization movement and smooth muscle relaxation .

L1 11 for burning micturation .

 

condition of the patients improves withing first 2-3

treatment .but there may be relapses if patients keeps

on taking damp producing foods like milk ,yogurt . and

oily foods.

 

use zinc capsules as well .

 

I shall be happy if you tell me about the reuslts as

well .

This is some nutritional info I found while doing some research for a family

member

with this condition.

 

 

 

Nutrition for Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy

B complex vitamins with extra B6 50 mg 3x daily; B6 100-250 mg / day

Multi mineral supplement per label

Zinc 80 mg/day (100 mg /day maximum from all sources and for up to 6 months

maximum

Copper 2-3 mg / day

Fish oil 3x daily per label

Garlic capsules 2 caps 3x daily

Amino Acids:

L-Alanine 200 mg / day

L-Glutamic acid 200 mg / day

L-Glycine 200 mg / day

Kelp 1000-1500 mg / day

Magnesium and Calcium per label

Vitamin C 1000-5000 mg / day

Saw Palmetto extract @ 85-95% fatty acids and sterols 160 mg 2x daily

Pumpkin Seeds 1/4 to 1/2 cup daily

or pumpkin seed oil

Essential Fatty Acids (all):

linoleic acid

linolenic acid

arichidonic acid

in linseed oil, sunflower oil,

evening primrose oil, soy oil 4 gms or 1 teaspoon / day

or linseed oil 1 tsp 2x daily

Reduce cholesterol below 220 mg/dl

Eliminate:

caffeine (coffee and tea)

alcohol

chlorinated and fluoridated water

spicy foods

junk foods

tomato and tomato products

Pesticide and toxins exposure

Increase fluid intake to 2-3 quarts spring or distilled water daily

Avoid exposure to very cold weather

Caution:

Over-the-counter cold/allergy remedies can cause urine retention and

inflammation

600mg tablets I tend to use these along with any other treatment

indicated (I am a western medical herbalist as well) I have also had
