Guest guest
Nora, If you mean *legally* a partnership, I would advise against it. If you mean sharing an office with like-minded colleagues, well, that's something different. A partnership means each of you assumes liability for the others; if there is a divorce, say, of one of the partners, that partner's divorced spouse can sue the partnership for assets...same in case of death. It's not generally a good legal plan for people in business together unless there is some specific reason you want this. I was in a partnership with 2 other people for 10 yrs. (not in acupuncture). I was reluctant to leave the partnership because I didn't want to lose access to our dance studio (which was the shared business), but over time, the interpersonal relationships between the partners became quite rocky and a constant source of tension. Likewise, for a cooperative type business situation, you must be clear what your own state laws are. Some states prohibit certain types of business arrangments in an attempt to stop the " clinic-mills " . ---RoseAnne
