Guest guest
Could it be an environmental contaminant? There are tens of thousands unknown chemical reactions and combinations that weren't around when was being formulated. Ask if they have been anywhere recently or bought any new household items, or there has been any new construction near their home. Guest guest
Mr. Knox, Does the patient seem to suffer from anxiety as well, does he tend to be Yin in nature (intraverted?)? Any joint disorders, tics, throbbing headaches? Any palpitations, Heart problems, Shen Disorders? How is the pulse and facial colors? Imho any shade of Green-Blue is a manifestation of a Wood imbalance. The fact that it is manifesting in the toungue shows affect of Fire - explicitly the HT since HT manifests in the tounge. The paleness and dullness and the concentration of the color is probably a manifestation of Wood Yin (Liver Blood) So very likely the tounge signs could point towards a Wood Yin Deficiency (Liver Blood/Yin Deficiency)/ Wood Yang Repletion (Liver Qi stagnation to Liver Yang Rising/Liver Fire (harrassing HT)/GB Qi stagnation) probably manifesting in a deficient Liver pulse (left guan deep pulse missing ) and wiry GB pulse (left guan superficial pulse)?! Wood is probably not the main organ to consider for other than symptomatic treatment though. Othe organ involvement: Check especially for Water (Kid/Bl) signs (specifically Kid Yin deficient pulse) Hope this helps! Guest guest
Mr. Knox, A short note on the chemical reaction Mr. Lieght mentioned. Of course there so much junk in all of the products we consume and surround us with and It will indeed be beneficial to rule out a chemical insensitivity in any patient as a means of damage control. However, needless to say, we respond differently (even though sometimes similarly) to any given factor (internal/external/neither int. nor ext.) according to our constitutional/accumulated imbalances and as such it will always manifest in a particular way in any given patient. As such these imbalances must be corrected or same/new manifestations of those very same patterns of imbalance will appear (most likely with further complications) and we will be seeing the same patients over and over again treating them for the same symptoms and/or more complicated ones. Just my humble opinion Best regards, Thomas Sorensen L.Ac.
