Guest guest
a copy of " The Basil Book " By our own Marilyn Hampstead I bought a copy of ebay last week and this thing is a JEWEL! Quite frankly I think she's underselling it. There are some copies for sale on ebay now and by gum, if you are at ALL interested cooking or basil you have GOT to get this book. I'm not kidding. It's full of humor and whimsey, historical facts as well as some of the most yummy recipes that I personally have read in a while. It also has growing tips, covers FOURTEEN different varieties of basil (unless I mis counted), how to make a basil maze and lots of " Fox Hills Farmers Notes " There are recipes for both the vegetarian and the carnivore Listen to some of these recipe titles: Cinnamon Basil Mushroom Pate (vegetarian) 'Breast of Duck with Basil, Hazelnuts and Red Wine " Medallians of Salmon with Basil Beurre Blanc " " Spinach Fettucine with pesto and aparagus " 'Hot Holy Basil Tea' 'Icy cinnamon fruite compote " 'Jans Basil Buns' And that's all I'm going to tell you. If you want to see more, your rEALLY have got to get this book. I have only one complaint... I would have liked it to go on for at least a hundred more pages. This is an extremely well written book with a personal touch that most cookbooks don't have. Cheers!
