Guest guest
Hi y'all, Perhaps some of you know what the Aromatic Plant Project is .. a non profit run by Jeanne Rose, Founder and Executive Director .. who is sorta seen by some as the Matron of Aromatherapy. She's been around a while fer'shur. http://www.aromaticplantproject.com/introduction.html Or http://www.jeannerose.net/ and I think its fair to say that she is considered by some to be one of the modern pioneers in aromatherapy. Anyway .. I was strolling through her site and came across the following link http://www.aromaticplantproject.com/hydrosols.html where it states that the term " Hydrosol " was invented(?) by Jeanne Rose in 1990. I wanted to point that out in case you had read it before because I don't think Jeanne Rise made such a statement .. I think its an editorial issue and most likely an error of the APP Media Director. Now there is some good info on that site (methinks) but I'm not buying it all .. same applies to any site on AT/EO/Hydrosols. As for the therapeutic properties of a Hydrosol .. I believe its safe to claim that they are AT LEAST that of the Essential Oil .. in many cases perhaps more .. and in all cases safer. And they can and should be used in a different manner than the Essential Oil. I've mentioned before that I personally believe (based on experience) that for some problems I can gain as much value from drinking an Oregano Hydrosol as I can from putting a drop or three of the EO in my Lentil soup .. and again, this is not a recommendation .. just a statement of my personal belief and my belief is shared by some pretty smart professors here in Turkey. I'm not promoting the APP nor am I a member of the APP .. and this is not an advertisement fer or agin them .. though I will say that their prices are sorta high .. to say the least. This is just what I see as interesting information so I'm passing along. :-P Nor am I promoting Non-Profit 501©(3) Organizations in general .. we can see how some of them operate (or don't operate) if we look at NAHA. Or for that matter, the ones Chris pointed out yesterday .. the Hunger and Rain Forest and Breast Cancer Sites .. all Non-Profit .. but read the info well afore you sink money into their activities. One doesn't need to be a Mother Theresa and be overflowing with altruistic zeal to kick off and gain gummit approval for a Non-Profit organization .. in fact, if I ever decide to retire-retire-retire I might start 7 or 8 of them rascals myself .. and either run'em from one desk in my den .. or from a luxury suite on Park Avenue. ;-p Y'all keep smiling.
