Martin's Monograph on Jasmine (pretty long it is) touches on this for a

couple of reasons .. and I'm not gonna go into a lotta detail .. y'all

gotta spring for it with some hard cash. ;-p

 

Another interesting thing about Jasmine flowers .. when they're about to

be harmed .. they release a chemical messenger into the air that is even

effective for alerting other plants around them. Pretty slick Jasmine.

 

Lots of other interesting this and that in the Monographs .. all of the
