Guest guest
Just one more quick note about this... Whatever you use it for, <g> urine that has travelled out of the body the " natural way " is NOT sterile. Urine inside the bladder may be. Since the lay person has no way of aseptically extracting urine from the bladder, it's safe to assume that the urine you get for your own personal use is tainted with ALLLL kinds of bacteria. Urine from women, (who anatomically have shorter, wider urethras and have labial folds) is going to be particularly contaminated with bacteria. To say that clear urine is bacteria free is misleading. Urine is cloudy in the presence of white cells, proteins, and other assorted cellular matter +/- bacteria. Even clear urine that has come out of the urethra is going to be tainted with bacteria from around the urinary opening and nearby area - yet it will still be clear. I can't speak to urine having many qualities of medications, because there are MANY medications out there - I'm not sure which one, specifically, urine is supposed to be similar to.... <G> I'm not trying to start a " urine war " or belabour the issue, I just think it's important to know that if anyone is thinking of putting urine in an ear, or on broken skin, you may be seeding it with bacteria, and setting up a nice secondary infection. I read that the active ingredient in urine that helps the jellyfish stings is the ammonia. Dilute ammonia is also another jellyfish sting treatment, but we rarely carry that with us to the beach - our own supply being much more convienient and portable. The rest I'm not gonna touch! ;-P JenB
