Guest guest
I need some hints on this... anyone own one? I need to know why we might want/need a Network adaptor and a memory card. The ManCub (7) turns 8 on Sunday... for two years he's been asking for a play station and this year he's going to get one (He'll prolly faint with delirium), but don't know anything about it, hence the question. Guest guest
If you don't get him a memory card to go with the game he will not be able to save his progress. Many of the games have multiple levels to them. Without a memory card he will start from the beginning every time. Quite a few of the games can take 20 or more hours of play to complete them and without a memory card you just play the same parts over and over again ... unless you want the game on 24/7 :-) The network part I'm not sure on. Guest guest
Happy Birthday!!! sounds like it will be a great one. The network adaptor is so he can hook it to your PC and play with friends on line- LOL! The memory card is so that when he get a zillion points in a game and you tell him to do his homework, he can save his place. Have Fun:) Gea , WoobeyQueen@a... wrote: > I need some hints on this... anyone own one? Guest guest
Just one more thing bout the memory card. If you plan to get any of the playstation 1 games that the PS2 will play, you'll need a memory card for a PS1. The PS2 memory cards only hold the info for the PS2 games. Have FUN! Guest guest
oh man, this is one that i can finally answer and be an almost expert on!!!!! i got me 4 boys here, 11-18, and we've had a playstation for a couple of years. the 14 yr old demanded a memory card shortly after we got the playstation. he got tired of his brother's erasing his games. they work so hard to get the levels, you know! lol anyways, the memory card allows the player to save his games and when he wants, continue where he left off. they also tell me that you really don't need a network adaptor unless you are going to play with someone else that's on another playstation, be it across town or another country. so break down and get the memory card and forget the network adaptor. at least that's what the 14 yr old and 16 yr old have to say about the whole thing. being that your son is only 8, i don't think that he'd need the network adaptor either but the memory card would save him the time to work thru all the levels to get back to where he was challenged the most. if that makes sense! deb c chillicothe, mo. > WoobeyQueen >COMPLETELY OT/Playstation 2 > >I need some hints on this... anyone own one? We got him the memory card and skipped the adapter... that little boy has been begging for a play station for 2 years now... >LOL< you should have seen his face when he dug in the plastic bag pulled out this box... first it was " What is it? " I told him to read the words on the upper left corner.... His little mouth fell open and he was speechless for at least one whole minute (a record in this house). He's overjoyed with it. So thanks to everyone who helped out on this tricky problem. It helped to make this special boy's very own day extremely delightful! K Cheers!
