Guest guest
Hi Tracey, While I don't have any truly conclusive evidence, several months ago, we added Camelia Oil to my daughter's psoriasis regimen and it seems that the plaques are resolving more quickly, and the skin is much softer with less scarring. Over the years, her psoriasis has done fairly well with a few of our own recipes. But when she gets lazy about treatment, she gets severe outbreaks. The seed of Camellia Japonica contains a class of compound called poly-phenol. Phenols or poly-phenols are capable of stopping a free radical chain reaction, or are generally known as anti-oxidants. Ellagitannins are potent anti-oxidants. Camellioferin A, which is an ellagitannin, has been identified in the seed of camellia japonica (reference: Phytochemistry, volume 37, No. 1 P241-244, 1994). It has even been shown that ellagitannin has anti-tumor activity (Reference: Plant Medicine, volume 68No.6, P 523-527)Camellia seed oil can protect the skin from free radical-induced cell death (apoptosis), and the subsequent fibrosis (scar formation). Additionally, Camellia seed oil will be completely absorbed within minutes.
