Smell is the most powerful of all our senses. At the first whiff of a scent,

messages are sent to the limbic system of the brain, which controls our

emotions.

 

Aromatherapy is an effective way to replenish your spirits by vaporing essential

oils to enhance your moods. Burning incense or resinous essential oil beads like

copal, sandlewood, or myrrh can easily be done by lighting a small amount in an

incense holder or ashtray. You can diffuse essential oils into the air with a

humidifier or place 4 to 5 drops in an aromatherapy candle diffuser.

 

To invigorate and energize:

grapefruit, lemon, lime, cardamom

 

To ground and calm the mind:

vetivert, sandalwood, chamomile, pine

 

To relieve depression:

bergamont, mandarin, lemon verbena

 

To ease anxiety:

reose, maroc, lavender, marjoram
