Guest guest
" Actually, there is a safe, natural preservative. It's fairly new to the market, and the manufacturer claims it is as effective as paraben blend preservatives. We've been waiting for them to release challenge testing results. It's called Naturserve. It's made from Cassia Leaf Oil, Potassium Sorbate, and Glycerin. " Um, what? It contains Potassium Sorbate - a preservative. Why do they add all that other stuff? Seems like a marketing gimick to me. Nice natural sounding name. Potassium Sorbate, like Parabens, are found in nature, but that doesn't mean the ones you can by are natural. Looking for a natural perservative for lotions, IMO, is like looking for instant dry water. Just add water, and you have water! Salt is a great natural perservite - every had jerky? But would you want to look like jerky? Then Cassia, like Marge said, is a great senitizer. And where does the glycrine come from, and why add it? Glycerine is great at de-hydrating the skin unless the humidity is over 80% Potassium sorbate is GRASS, and a fine perservative all on it's own. It doesn't need the other stuff. They probabally are selling potassium sorbate at 10x the price. catching up, David Roman Tax Center - File online by April 15th
