If you think it's still in the urinary tract, drink LOTS of water,

take

cranberry tablets (sold in the vitamin section), and cut out sugary

products. AZO or other similar otc products will help relieve the

discomfort and need to frequently urinate, are not stored in your

system & have little/no side effects. (They simply cause the bladder

ro

relax, whereas the infection causes it to spasm.) If you think it HAS

moved up to the bladder already, I would do all of the above, add a

warm compress to the flank of your abdomen for 15 minutes or so,

several times a day if possible. Taking regular cranberry tablets,

cutting down/out sugary foods, and regular bathroom breaks in

addition

to water-water-water will help keep them away. I've also found stress

to be associated with them personally. One note, if the infection

becomes severely painful, or doesn't subside within a couple of days,

I

would visit a doctor, as kidney infections can result from untreated

or

worsening bladder infections and they can cause damage that requires

hospital treatment. Good luck I know how uncomfortable a UTI/bladder

infection can be. Sharon

The opinion expressed above is entirely my own knowledge based on my

own experience and should not be substituted for any professional

recomendation/advice or your personal judgement/choice.

d-Mannose is very effective at eliminating bladder infections. It is a sugar

that eats the infection. Best to always have a jar on hand. It is a powder

that you mix in a little water.

There is also a botanical blend called Solidago that works just as well that you

can find in a health food store or at your Naturopaths.

Hope this helps.

I am probably too late, but for anyone else w/ a UTI. The supplement

d-mannose has worked best for me. I have found it at Whole Foods,

although I'm sure you can find it elsewhere. The kind I buy is from

Solaray. It comes in pill form, but I take the powder out of the

caplet and mix it with water. I take it with a glass of water. I also

take as many pills per day as the bottle says. It's gone within a day

or two. Good luck!

My suggestion would be to drink lots of cranberry juice, unsweetened if you can.

lol its an effective manner of harnessing the power of belief, laying of

hands.....requires willingness to believe......which in itself, possesses

great power............Using Reikki is simple a way of pretending the power

is in the hands of another in channelling it to areas not in harmony. imho

Never too late, lol.

Also, and real important, QUIT drinking COFFEE for a while. It seems to irritate

the dickens out of the bladder when it is sensitive. As someone suggested, lots

of cranberry juice helps.

I read a medical study that suggested using acidophelous regularly -

in tablet or pill form for a concentrated dosage but also can get it

in active yogurt cultures. This is supposed to help the good

bacteria keep away the bad bacteria. My mom has used it sucessfully

for diarrhea...and hopefully it will help her with the recurring

bladder/uti infections she gets.

I also know that perfumes in the way of soaps, oils, talcs, pads,

wipes, etc. can irritate the bladder and perhaps cause infections.

ditto to the person who said give up the caffiene...not just coffee

but any caffiene can irritate the bladder and cause infections.
