Guest guest
Hi All.. I've been getting some sort of recurring pink eye/conjunctivitis over the past year. It's almost always in the left eye. Doesn't seem to be bacterial (not " crusty " ) but perhaps viral(?) I've had around 8 bouts of this in the last year, getting more frequent as of late (about every 10 days or so). I have no idea why I'm getting this. I really take care of myself, and have been a health nut for many years. I wonder about possible allergy as a cause..? But it's quite painful and seems more like the old " cold in the eye " that I had as a child a few times. Any input would be appreciated! -michael
Guest guest
Michael Perhaps eyebright or triphala eyewashes would work. Guest guest
there is such a thing as allergic conjunctivitis.... If you where a female I would recommend throwing away eye makeup, do you have pets? Animals can get conjunctivitis, even birds. M <yoonit wrote: Hi All.. Guest guest
Michael, I don't know how much Sun you get but there is a syndrome called " Springtime Conjunctivitis " ....can happen anytime in the late Winter or early Spring. Vitamin D always keeps mine at bay. I have to take up to 6 capsules daily to keep eyes from swelling, Do as soon as you realize eyes are being weird Would help to get 20 minutes of Sun daily and or take extra D to prevent this. Guest guest
I have read that colloidal silver works for pink eye whether it is viral or bacterial, and my family has used it with success. Guest guest
Yes.. I bought some capsules with eyebright, goldenseal, bearberry etc and made an infusion (tea) with it, then dropped a few drops in my eye. I'm all better now. But I can't prve if I was healing anyway or what. But I really think it did the trick. I'm also taking the caps internally. Guest guest
I think with allergic onjunctivitis, usually both eyes are involved. And there's more itchiness...right? -m , paula mccrum <spicebush_swallowtail05 wrote: > > there is such a thing as allergic conjunctivitis.... > If you where a female I would recommend throwing away eye makeup, do you have pets? Guest guest
I get lots of sun in the summer, but almost none in winter. But I do take plenty of vitamin D. So I doubt if I'm short on D. And, I was getting this last summer already. But I do wonder if sunshine still wouldn't be good for the eyes... Guest guest
I went to doctors, took their prescription allergy med of the day, threw away all my make up and no matter what it arrived in the spring or sometimes January....the swollen, itching eyes....the med helped minutely but the Sun was the only answer. Now I take 6,000 IU of Vit. D3 a day....no swollen eyes .....it took many years of this recurrance before I got the message. A doctor gives vit D2 in units of 50,000 .....not for eye symptoms but for hyper/hypo parathyroid that keeps bones from being robbed of calcium. Personally I am grateful for the answer I have found because I do live indoors and do not get the required amount of Sun per day that I should have Try it you will prove it for yourself.
