Spring Tonics

I am thinking Spring and planning my Spring jaunt into the woods to

dig some sassafras root. My grandmother used to do this with me for

for many years as I was growing up but people seem to be afraid of

drinking the root tea. I would be interested if any of our members

have favorite Spring Tonics to share and how do you weigh in on

Sassafras Tea?

Ours was poke Salet. Mother was afraid to cook it herself because it

has to be done just right. My grandmother always did the honors. I

remember sassafras tea. I don't like root beer an the taste is

somewhat alike I think. My grandmother always drank it though.
