Guest guest
Hi, When this happened to my husband he had a lung embolism and even in the emergency room and a 4 day stay in the hospital they could not figure it out. Finally I said that there had to be blockage and insisted on a test to see where the blockage was and then they were apologetic when they found out what it was as they had labeled him incooperative in doing his exercises. They had also missed 3 fractured ribs. Check this situation out with your medical doctor and insist on a test. They put him on coumadin, but you might want to do some research on nattokinase and lumbrokinase taken with vitamin e as well as fish oil. His knowledeable MD put him on Lumbrokinase as well as what the hospital doctor put him on coumadin, which we got him off of asap..... He now takes nattokinase in the morning and evening, 1 cap of Krill Oil and 1 vitamin e. Good luck to you!! Guest guest
Make sure you are not having consistant pressure to the back of your legs pillows under the knees, socks or stockings that put pressure on your calf, sitting a lot with legs down. Exercising while there is still a clot there won't help you any. When its resolved exercise helps the circulation and can help prevent clots. Also if your on Coumadin or another med for the clots check for interactions. Those are really touchy meds and interact with a lot of foods and herbal remedies. green tea and grapefruit are two of them. How you prevent it from happening again depends on why you had it in the first place. There are some herbs which can help prevent clots. Guest guest
I agree with this course of treatment, as described. I had at least one clot in one leg (that I KNOW about!) around five years ago. I also had symptoms of a pulmonary embolism a while prior to having had the clot definitively diagnosed. The hospital clinic medical staff, over a period of time, was unable to find a suitable dose of Coumadin for me (believe it or not, the more Coumadin they gave me, the faster my blood clotted[!]--which may be a symptom of something called " anti-phospholipid antibody syndrome). Anyway...short story long: I dropped the medical treatment--as it clearly wasn't working--and started self-treating with chopped-up raw garlic (I was taking too much--three cloves per day should be your maximum, I believe) and the purest fish oil available. My doc also asked that I " at least " take one aspirin a day--given that I wasn't willing to keep trying the Coumadin--and I did that for quite a while, to no apparent ill effect. (I'm still thinking about the daily aspirin, and may or may not resume with it.) Vitamin E is also a good " blood thinner, " so I agree with Nancey about adding it to your regimine, as well as the nattokinase (there's also a derivative of a silkworm-produced enzyme that is said to work at least as well as the natokinase). Basically, anything that's a " natural blood thinner " should be helpful for leg clots. You can alway research new " natural " cures by doing a search on the phrase " blood thinner. " Good luck! Cyn Never miss a thing. Make your homepage.
Guest guest
I would do yoga, especially inverted exercises like shoulderstand and plough.
