( When schools are made to look like prisons then kids are going to act like

discontented prisoners...the metal detectors, drug dogs, cops in school,

searches, etc all are the reason for increased violenece in schools. The

adults set up the game and the kids are going to play.

WE didn't have any of the " security " in schools when I was in one, and had

smoking, off campus privelege, etc with no school shootings. Treat a kid

like a criminal and the kid is going to rebel- as all kids do that aren't

dumbed down on psychoactive meds- in the manner he can. Our school system is

set up, just as our society has, to create violence.

The " zero tolerance " mentalities that create intense bureaucratic systems to

hold kids in check and prevent them from expressing themselves, direct them

to the only means of expression left: violence.

The cops give a good role model of societies attitude toward non compliance:

" criminals " are shot, beat up, tazed, maced, pepper sprayed etc every day.

These are the adult role models...

The nation " refuses to talk with " anyone it doesn't like; and bombs or

shoots its " enemies. "

When this lesson and the frustration it engenders in thinking humans is

reaching even 3rd graders, perhaps its time to do something about it.
