nighttime vomiting

For about the past month my 8 year old son has been vomiting at night.

Sometimes two nights in a row, then not for three or four nights, then

one night, then not, etc. I have tried to find ties, e.g., timing of

supper, what he ate, what he did all day, but nothing seems to be a

consistent catalyst. He has vomited as early as 10:30pm and as late as

5 in the morning. Sometimes all his supper, sometimes only a little

bile. Often he vomits twice about 90 minutes apart, then sleeps

soundly until morning. He is fine otherwise, running around and

playing. He's happy, healthy (except for the vomiting), has

regular " output " , no fever.

 

Any ideas on why or what we can do?
