Guest guest
Thank you all for the information that you sent for my friend on this topic. She gave me an update that might be helpful to others. The ENT (that you all recommended) said it was GERDS... I've been taking enzymes regularly as digestive aids. Well, how did this all play out? My difficulty speaking lasted until just after the new year. The sore throat eased considerably, but has not gone away completely. Have been back and forth to the doctor regularly. Now for a little regression: Four years ago, I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. Back to today: Went to the ENT and he asked several questions about my sleep patterns and snorinig. I informed him that I have sleep apnea and he now says that is what has been causing the problems with my throat and the incessant coughing. He said that the choking at night causes the acid to rise and the coughing distributes it to sensitive places. This is an interesting perspective on GERDS. Gratefully, Lynn
