Guest guest
Take Co Q 10 and omega-3 fatty acids[ 1-2 capsules of 1000 mg a day] and garlic capsules. Also oatmeal works great and also eating a high fiber diet. You also have to work out with both weights and cardiac. But, if you still having heart palps and start getting chest pain, you really should see a heart specialist. ---- jonkit_lee << >> 190 LDL Hi I am new here, first post. So I just came back from doctor's office and got some results of some tests we did. Did bunch of heart tests, 24hr holter stress test, echo, ekg. All these test did not show any detectable or significant " heart problems, so the good doctor said. Then he smiles and says now lets talk about the blood work. So 280 overall and 190 LDL. He then began hardselling me Crestor. I said I wanted to do some research and think it over, maybe talk to my family. He response was I am the expert,..at some point he assured me I would die prematurely if I did not treat LDL, said I was making dumb choice. I got all these test done because I was having palpitations. I have had similiar symptoms in the past. I think the symptoms are digestion related, maybe reflux. Anyway I am going to do some type of cleanse and fast. I ate very high fat diet over the holidays. Just was wondering if anyone any advice or information. Thanks .. Guest guest
I would say go with your intuition. Do not let a doctor convince you against your gut feeling. I prefer alternative medicine and will not take drugs. To me drugs cause other health problems and then the doctor prescribes a second drug and so on. Just do what you feel is right for yourself. Plant based diets (http://health.usnews.com/articles/health/heart/2008/02/06/lowering-ldl-choleste\ rol-without-drugs.html#) actively interact to improve cholesterol profiles. You will want to limit your intake of red meat, eggs, and cheese. No trans fats, hydrogenated fats or partially hydrogenated fats, reduce sugar, and processed foods. As far as a diet to lower cholesterol, most fruits and vegetables being high in nutrients and antioxidants are very good. The best are: cold pressed Olive oil (2 to 3 tbsp. a day) , Flaxseed oil Fish and omega-3 fatty acids, Walnuts, Almonds, Avocados, Oatmeal, Oat bran, Whole Grain fiber, Beans. Green Peas, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Kale, Cabbage, Carrots, Brussel Sprouts, Apples, Oranges, Grapefruit, Mangos, Papaya, Pineapple, Tomato, Sweet Potatoes, Garlic, Onions, Cinnamon (1/2 tsp. a day), Cayenne, Spinach, Water chestnuts, Bananas, Apricots, Grapes, Blueberries, and Kiwi. Also exercising 30 minutes 3 to 5 days a week. A liver cleanse. Here is someone who had hereditary high cholesterol and explains how to control it naturally. She also mentions If you are undertaking this liver cleanse, make sure that you have done the colon cleanse and kidney cleanse FIRST. A very informative web link. _http://www.the-natural-path.com/cholesterol-treatment.html_ (http://www.the-natural-path.com/cholesterol-treatment.html) In a message dated 4/1/2009 8:01:00 P.M.
