Some say it's toxic.

--Researchers who have observed that MSG causes brain damage and endocrine

disorders. (It's an endocrine disruptor.)

--Researchers who use MSG to kill brain cells so they can study the

effects of various other chemicals on the brain.

Some say it causes adverse reactions.

--The millions of people who suffer migrain headaches, asthma,

tachycardia, seizures, depression, severe mood swings, nausea and vomiting and

more

when they ingest amounts of MSG that exceed their tolerances for the

substance.

--Observant emergency room physicians.

--Observant paramedics.

--A growing number of physicians.

Some say it's " safe. "

--People who profit from the manufacture, sale, and/or promotion of MSG.

--People who work directly for Ajinomoto Co., Inc., The Glutamate

Association, the International Glutamate Technical Committee, and their various

related associations.

--People whose research is funded by the glutamate industry. They are the

people who, before they were exposed, used neurotoxic aspartic acid (in

aspartame) in the so called " placebos " used in their double-blind studies.

--Public relations firms employed by the glutamate industry.

--Researchers, if any, who are paid directly, or indirectly (possibly with

outright cash gifts, grants to attend meetings in nice places, and/or

promises of future employment, for example) to speak out about the " safety " of

MSG.

--The U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

--Friends of the people who profit from the manufacture, sale, and/or

promotion of MSG.

Some say it's controversial. --People who don't want you to know that,

quite literally, MSG is a poison.
