The obvious answer is to take antifungals. Some suggestions are topical iodine (5% or better), and the following tataken internally: burdock root black walnut hulls oregano oil wild cherry bark pau d'arco lemongrass barberry tumeric (contains curcumin) The above antifungals are being used by my wife and myself with great success. If you can take Lugol's 5% iodine internally at 2 drops a day for a month, and have no itching, you will then be fungus-free. If you start itching, stop taking the Lugol's immediately and take basil internally to stop the itching. Return to taking the Lugol's when the itching subsides. Be patient - this process takes months. My wife and I have been at it for about 6 months now, and we are about 90% fungus free at this point. I am 59 and my wife is a young 55. I know what a yeast infection is, and it is not that bad, it comes and goes, but especially during a BM, intense itching all around that area. I have had this for over 2 years now. I have used some tea tree oil, diluted to the area with some relief, it temp. stops it. > Ideas please! > TY >
Guest guest
My gynecologist says that the yeast preparations from the drug store work just as well as the expensive prescription preparations. To precent yeast and eliminate bacterial infections, douche with vinegar and water. You can even buy these prepared. One friend, who did not have health insurance, tried this and in 4 days the problem was gone. This should be a ritual for all women as a part of normal hygiene...Lynn - tawnynicole001 Wednesday, June 10, 2009 8:37 PM << >> Re: Embarrasing question: Vaginal and rectal itching, esp. at night, not hemeroids, TY I am so sorry! Sounds very uncomfortable. I was having a somewhat similar problem not long ago. I was getting frequent irritation and itchy. I used a simple test I got at walmart to make sure it wasn't reoccurring yeast infections. I figured out one problem: I was taking a lot of bubble baths and some baths with epsiom salts for sore muscules, I think this was causeing some of the irretation. You might re-evaluate your detergents, soaps, ect. I also switched to ONLY breathable cotton underwear. Also I stopped using chemical laiden tampons and disposable pads. I almost always had terrible irritation and itching during my period. I now use organic cotton reusable/wasiable pads. I purchased mine from WAHM on ebay...There are TONS of online stores and even info on sewing your own. Also douching can be helpful but as we all know douching to frequently is not healthy. I found a few recomended douches and vaginal pack in my " Healthy Healing " book. I would be happy to share them with you if you would like. Also, I incorperate more yougurt and cultured foods like kefir to my diet...that also made a BIG difference. I also try to drink cranberry juice frequently. I have found it helps with yeast infectons and UTI's which for me go hand-in-hand. These are just some of the things that really helped me. I suggest letting your midwife know about it. (Or your Holistic Health Practioner or Doctor) Hope this Helps!
