Anyone here use holy basil and or 5-htp for depression?

I have tried 5-htp to prevent migraines, which didn't work for me, but I did

notice while I was taking it I was in a very good mood. Things that otherwise

might have made me angry I kind of let roll off me. Don't know if it would help

for actual depression.

Ever sence I was relieved of [10 yrs.of temperal lobe] Epilpesy 15 years ago by

taking Magnisum for about 1 year.

I have been very interested in Natural alternatives for any problem. now I am 43

and have noticable Depression mostly do to hormones, dealing with troubled teen

children and strugling with the lack of income to keep up with the increasing

cost of gas and grocery.

 

I have started using 5-htp, holy basil and a sam-e blend. so far with good

results [taking them for 3 +weeks] wondering if anyone else has any experience

with these for depression, or having any relief form depression form any other

source. my mother is trying to get me to a Dr. to get Drugs for this but I am

against that, im not in the mood to argue with anyone at this point.
