Guest guest
Most of the problem with milk is that it's pasteurized. When milk is first produced, it's raw. This means it has all of the enzymes necessary for its optimum digestion, and all of the nutrients are still intact. Enter pasteurization. It's been a loooong time since I researched this, so I forget what all it entails, but just suffice it to say that when milk (or juice or any substance) is pasteurized, many of the enzymes are killed and the nutrients corrupted. Of course, it's not just milk. The same can be said for juice, too. And try getting anything that has NOT been pasteurized! It's hard, even in the healthiest of health food stores! (I have found ONE brand of juice to date.) Many states heavily regulate the production, and thus the pasteurization, of milk. In many states, raw milk is not even available. Other places must jump through heavy hoops to offer it. Your best bet if you want raw milk is to raise a cow and produce the milk yourself. No joke! The next problem with milk is that it is obtained from less-than-healthy cows that have raised in very close conditions, with many circulating diseases, and have been shot FULL of antibiotics, growth hormones, and the like. Cows' bodies can't process these alien substances any more than ours can; their kidneys and liver are overloaded too! So where do they go? Much like in our bodies, these foreign toxins have no place to go except to accumulate in the tissues and fluids! That's right, so you're drinking a bunch of steroids and other drugs with each gulp of milk. (And also with each bite of meat...and that goes for chicken, turkey, ham, and fish, too! And don't forget eggs, butter, and cheese, either.) And then the mainstream mega-conglomerate manufacturers have nothing better to do, so they add blue food coloring to the milk (I can't imagine why--do they think we want to drink blue milk?) It's not much, but it is there. And back when I bought milk from the regular supermarket, I would know when the manufacturers had done a sloppy job of cleaning the equipment, because I got this good dose of chlorine smell & taste in my milk! Yummmm.... Well, there IS a way out of the hormone & antibiotic trap, and that's to go organic. That's what I've done. OK, I can't really get away from pasteurization, but I sure can steer clear of the drugs & steroids. And, I guess I can live with that. A last word on milk: milk is processed in the duodenum. Everything ELSE you eat is processed in the stomach and then the small intestine, if my anatomy class serves me right. Thus, it's good to drink milk by itself. Many ppl who have problems with milk have it with their meals. Don't do this. Milk will curdle whatever else you eat. The effect is subtle for most people and they won't really notice it, but for some the effect is really dramatic. And whether you notice it or not, it's not that great for you. So it's good to take it alone. Hope this helps! Guest guest
hi folks, all i can say about this is start reading this webbie, it totally turned me off milk, no desire to drink it anymore and i feel great! http://notmilk.com/ besides the sick cows, we seems to react different to this liquid, europeans and african folks have less and more tolerance for milk......anyhoo, i would rather juice some veggies or fruit, i believe way healthier. thanks, rik > Most of the problem with milk is that it's pasteurized.
