Guest guest
Bob, What happened was, that in the evening just after sun down, we'd hear sqwaking from the chickens, we'd send out our g-shephard, but by the time we'd get there either a chicken would be dead, ripped open, or just gone. They were taken from inside their house off their purches. My rooster would try to stop it, and several occassions he'd be standing outside the coop, feathers wrecked, but ok. So we tried to be smart and get out there early to close up, but sure enough, we'd be too late, time and time again. I looked around to see if a fox had a dig somewhere, but there werent, then finally I saw a post at the back, closest to the woods, where blood had dripped down, and a few feathers. So we know where, but just no who was getting in. That's why I thought coon, because our heavy weight birds were being taken as well. If the whole body was gone it could be a feral cat(or not so feral), or an owl. I've seen owls fly right into coops before and all that's left is a few feathers! Bob.
