Guest guest
Hi Everyone: I just joined the group and I'm very curious to read back through your posts. I've been interested in natural healing methods for more than 20 years and have been a practitioner of massage and acupressure for most of them. I'm a big believer in herbal and naturopathic remedies and I'm very excited to learn more. I am also very curious about what you think about Echinacea Purpurea. Recently it was announced that they didn't really see any evidence that it's really useful for immune boosting, but I don't know if I agree with that. I have used Echinacea myself quite extensively and found it quite useful. My wife and I came down with the flu a month ago and I sincerely believe Echinacea really helped us get better faster. What is your opinion? Do you use it yourselves? Reading through some of your posts about allergies, I have a story to share with you. I used to suffer from horrible hay fever and pollen allergies. During allergy season I should've bought stock in Benadryl and Claritin, I took so much of it. I hate taking pharmaceuticals, I just don't like the idea of putting those chemicals in my body, but there was just nothing else that would bring me relief. My wife is a physicist and teaches at a local University, and a colleague of hers mentioned that his wife had gotten over a terrible allergy to wheat, that I should try what she did. They say that you grow new cells about every seven years and that sometimes the new cells grow *without the sensitivity* to whatever substance you had an allergy to, so it may be attributable to that. But this gentleman's wife had used Reiki and an " affirmation " and inside of three weeks, her allergy was gone. Reiki is an all natural, non- technology-based, energy therapy that has been proven to be effective at certain things. It may sound like hoodoo, but I tried what she suggested and it works! I did a ten-minute session every day for three weeks, and I haven't had even a sniffle during allergy season in the nine years since! I was so impressed, I went and found someone to teach me the system. Has anyone else heard of using energy to cure allergies? We live near Columbus, GA and have been looking for a reputable herbalist with reasonably priced herbs, especially Echinacea. If anyone on the list knows of someone reputable in the area, we'd love to hear from you offlist. Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work.
