Guest guest
John... I know the dark sunglasses, as I also get migraines. I will have to say as I became older, I would get less. However, when I do get one, I have a warning, and if driving, pull off road as fast as I can. My vision becomes so blurry that I can't see anything, and if I do not take anything right then and there, there is nothing I can take whether it be medicine, or herbs that will help. When I was in college, I had a migraine last almost two weeks. I wear sun glasses and keep them on until my vision is restored. I try to put myself in a quiet environment, as noise does not help the matter any. When at work, I do the best I can. When I lose the vision, I just call someone over to take over my position until it passes. I do not have the vomiting with it anymore as I did in college. I will take Feverfew for it, but one thing that really helps me, is to really put pressure, similar to accupressure on the back of my neck, from my head down to my shoulders. Really grip that area and put pressure, and I also vigorously massage my temples and the top of my head. I find that if my husband is home, I have him massage the back of my neck and I can actually feel some of pressure releasing. It is easier to have someone do it for you, if one is that lucky, but sometimes that is impossible. I always know what side headache will be, as whichever eye has the worse vision problem, the headache will be on opposite side for me. Stress does play a big factor with migraines in my case, as does diet. Hope some of this may help you, as I sure know where you are coming from Diane M.
