Guest guest
I know that this forum usually revolves around humans…but one of my cats seems to have a tapeworm….and I was wondering if anyone had any herbal solutions regarding how to get rid of them…I do the frontline to try to alleviate this problem, as this particular worm comes from eating fleas…makes me crazy with all of my ‘anti-flea’ stuff (carpets, frontline..etc) but one of my cats seems particularly prone to them, and even w/ the frontline they seem to love him, frontline helps, but does not make it better…even though he is an inside cat… So in addition if anyone has any good flea remedies that can be given, I would appreciate that as well…I seem to be doing a good job as none of my other animals seem to be bothered much by them (2 other cats and a dog)…but I am sure that the sneaky fleas make their way in somehow… Help!!! As we had a very mild winter, I am sure that this is going to be an ongoing issue this summer… Thanks from NC, USA!!! Georgia Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Guest guest
I have 4 cats, and the boy cat is a big hunter. He gets the frontline flea stuff, but he eats so much of his own catch, that he needs to be de-wormed every quarter. I've never heard of any herbs for parasites, other than black walnut and pau d'arco bark, but there's no way I could get enough capsules down a cat to make a difference for him. So for me the best thing to do is get the stuff from the vet. That'll take care of the tape worm, hook worms, and round worms. I had been buying tapeworm stuff from the local feed mill, but the vet said after looking at my kitty for another issue, that he seemed anemic and his blood test confirmed that. She said that hook worms suck the blood from the inside. So now I just get the worm stuff from her to make sure we get rid of all the worms. Good luck. I can actually see the fleas falling off when I ryub the soap on them. It works great. It is actually good for keeping bugs off of anyone. Guest guest
I make anise soap , I saponify natural oils, including olive, coconut and palm fats, then when the soap has been cooked, I add ground anise seeds and anise essential oils.Be careful using essential oils around your cats! Dont just add the essential oil to her bath, or rub it on your cat, it is too strong for them. It is really dillueted in the soap.I dont know if you want to make it. You might be able to find a soap maker that can accomodate you. You should eb able to buy a few bars for under $5.00 a piece. It is sometimes called fishermen's soap, because fishermen use it alot.HTHZahraGeorgia Lundie <gklundie wrote: Thank you so much!
