Guest guest
Interesting! I work road construction so am out in the sun for 10-14 hours a day between May and November. Maybe I shouldn't feel so bad about that! I have always thought the sun was a healer, my complexion, everything is better for me in summer. I am literally propelled by the sun....so I guess you know how I am affected by clouds and rain! lol My aunt was telling me about something she read or saw recently about how we're all lacking in Vit D, and I asked, even with all the time I spend in the sun, she seemed to think even I would be lacking in Vitamin D. I can't remember what she read or watched, so have never checked it out. Maybe? Guest guest
A simple blood test should be able to tell you if you have adequate levels Toni At 05:57 PM 9/04/2008, you wrote: Hahahahaha, I am ! lol Ton---I...not Y Ya, I will have to check into it, cause my aunt still thought I would be deficient because we don't retain excess amounts of Vitamin D? Guest guest
Here women haven't been working on road construction for very long - it was amazing to me to see in Bulgaria in the 60's women sweeping roads and working on building sites - never got that in UK in the 60s - but if you're strong enough good on you! See if you can get accustomed to doing a muscle test/kinesiology test on yourself to see if you do indeed need extra Vit D Jane - T Wednesday, April 09, 2008 6:27 PM Re: Re: Using the Power of the Sun to Improve Eyesight... Guest guest
Like from a DR? Or a home test? I can't afford to go to the DR anymore, ever since my $3100 MRI on my shoulder! HA What a joke and scam that test is, if only I would have known the price! Guest guest
I would think so yes, from a doctor, or perhaps from a laboratory. The other option which I would follow if I was uncertain is just read up as much as you can on this Vit D. After having read a number of good articles I would think you get the idea of what could be expected you sense if you where short. Diet tips will be given along the way. With you doing outside work most of the day I doubt it sincerely you'd be suffering from chronic deficiency. Vitamin D is often discussed in conjunction with discussions about Vit A and Cod liver oil. H. At 06:26 PM 9/04/2008, you wrote: Like from a DR? Or a home test? Guest guest
Well, I ain't strong enough anymore! HA I used to work a lot of construction, building and trades, but have been total highway since about '99. I've picked the rebar, and shoveled the cement and blacktop, raked the gravel, now I flag traffic, which I love! It has been hell on my joints tho, I have had 2 knee surgeries, 1 ankle surgery and 1 elbow surgery. So I figure I got 3 to go and I am down for the count! I do take glucosamine for joints, what else should I be taking. I have 2 more years of this for sure, then I will have my 20 and I don't know what I will do from there. Gonna be hard to punch a time clock or be inside a building after 20 years.
