Or this one with reportedly 24 deaths in Cameroon during a food riot and

many arrested, hardly a sign of orderly protests

I have been reading about the food

riots all over the web and they all say riots, yet when I read up on them

I haven't seen any evidence of other than orderly protests. Has anybody

read anything about actual riots where the people go berserk and break

windows and tip over cars and such. I don't consider orderly protests to

be riots.

Politics and the world's food

supply crisis

The Hidden Battle to Control the World's Food Supply

Food riots are breaking out across the planet. We must re-examine

corporate control of the food supply.

The rise in global food prices has sparked a number of protests in

recent weeks, highlighting the worsening epidemic of global hunger.

The World Bank estimates world food prices have risen 80 percent over

the last three years and that at least thirty-three countries face

social unrest as a result. U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has

warned the growing global food crisis has reached emergency

proportions.
