Many people suffer from varicose veins. This can be an annoying condition that can turn into a serious health threat. There is no one specific cure for varicose veins that can treat every sufferer's symptoms, but there have been successes to cure varicose veins with bioflavonoids.

What Are Varicose Veins?

Varicose veins are a condition where the veins become twisted and enlarged. Most of the instances of varicose veins occur in the legs, but can also occur elsewhere in the body. What happens is that when the veins become enlarged, the valves in the veins no longer work properly. The blood collects in the enlarged veins and worsens the problem. Varicose veins are unsightly, but they can also cause the sufferer many problems such as pain and itching. But for someone who has this condition, they can cure varicose veins with bioflavonoids.

What Are Bioflavonoids?

Bioflavonoids are antioxidants that help improve overall health in the human body. Certain types of bioflavonoids are found in food such as citrus, ginkgo, tea, dark chocolate and wine. Bioflavonoids also provide benefits against heart disease and cancer. But how to they help with varicose veins? A cure for varicose veins with bioflavonoids lies in the antioxidant's healing properties. The antioxidants work by reducing aching, fatigue and swelling in the legs of a person with varicose veins.

Making a cure for varicose veins with bioflavonoids, however, does not begin with just eating foods rich in these antioxidants. To get the sufficient amount of bioflavonoids to help reduce the symptoms of varicose veins, one must have a daily intake of at least 1000 milligrams. Taking two 500-milligram doses per day is usually sufficient.

Another problem that sufferers of varicose veins run into are the risk of leg ulcers. The sufferer continually scratching the varicose veins and creating wounds usually causes these leg ulcers. These ulcers can cause more problems for the sufferer, turning into venous insufficiency. Making an effort to get a cure for varicose veins with bioflavonoids can help many people reduce the itching sensations, which will reduce the chance of developing leg ulcers.

Although the news for bioflavonoids and varicose veins is good, bioflavonoids can only treat the symptoms of varicose veins. There is no evidence as of yet that having a cure for varicose veins with bioflavonoids will reduce or improve the appearance of the legs. Varicose veins can become a big cosmetic problem, but with the use of bioflavonoids, the medical side will be taken care of. It will greatly reduce the itching and pain. This will in turn make the sufferer's situation a lot more bearable.
