Guest guest
Harrods in Knightsbridge have electric delivery vans - at least they did when I worked there in the 60's - I doubt they would have changed them - so economical and designed by an employee for them at normal pay - like in his spare time lol! And they had their own bank too! Jane " Hanneke " <blosshan Those who have missed the documentary: Who killed the electric car ( youtube, and possible other places too): this documentary is worth watching.. it shows how the oil companies and other influential politicians and companies took care of this. Guest guest
As I understand. Back in the 60's and 70's (even before) these vehicles were holding their own for a short time but... People wanted speed and comfort and so the vehicles went the way of the dodo. Actually I am not meaning the electric vehicles of the company in question because I don't know. I was just commenting my opinion in general. Guest guest
Around Knightsbridge where speed isn't possible anyway it was ideal - people used to go and purchase 1/4 lb of bacon rashers @ No 4. cut and ask for it to be delivered - just so the neighbours could see the Harrods van at the door - you know how it is - Coronation St isn't in it rofl - dunno if that still happens ....... no idea - its a different world down here Jane " Kenneth " <plisca > As I understand. Guest guest
There's a couple of new electric cars on the way. I wonder how they're going to be " killed " . If " supply and demand " was the only factor they'd still have the electric car from a few years ago. - " Jane MacRoss " <highfield1 Wednesday, June 04, 2008 11:55 PM Re: Electric cars was // Gas Hole Around Knightsbridge where speed isn't possible anyway it was ideal - people used to go and purchase 1/4 lb of bacon rashers @ No 4. cut and ask for it to be delivered - just so the neighbours could see the Harrods van at the door - you know how it is - Coronation St isn't in it rofl - dunno if that still happens ....... no idea - its a different world down here Jane " Kenneth " <plisca > As I understand. Guest guest
A company in France called MDI have designed an air car powered by compressed air and are in the process of producing it. They are only making it available to the domestic market I believe and maybe also in India, where it is being manufactured by Tata. Hopefully it will be available for sale next year. I've got my name down on the waiting list so I can finally ditch my 13 year old diesel car. If you goggle air car you should get more info. vini
