Guest guest
Hi, I'm from LA and moving to Phoenix next month. can anyone in the phoenix area tell me what are typical rates there? Here in SoCal the low is $75, some charging $80, $90, even $100; first visit tends to be about $100-150, some of the " fancier " offices charging $200-300 I'd appreciate any feedback. Guest guest
Hi Sami, I'm in Scottsdale. I charge a flat fee of $65 per office visit including the first visit. I'm on the lower end of the scale, especially for Scottsdale. Most practitioners charge $70 - $80 and a lot more for first visits probably on par with Southern California. I priced my services not only to be competitive with my fellow L.Ac.'s but to make them available to more people. While most of my patients are from within 10 miles of my office, I draw from the whole valley with several patients willing to drive an hour or more one way to see me. I make a good living (by keeping my overhead low) and am fairly busy. I've been in practice for over 2 years. Last year Arizona was the fastest growing state, mostly to the Phoenix area. If you are used to LA, Phoenix should be an easy transition. I tell people that Phoenix is just like LA (huge city, lots of sprawl, lots of smog, lots of traffic), except it is hotter, dryer and doesn't have a beach. If you haven't been here in the summer you are in for a treat! ;-) Good luck with the move! Christopher Vedeler L.Ac., C.Ht. Oasis Acupuncture http://www.oasisacupuncture.com 9832 N. Hayden Rd. Guest guest
Hi Sami, My sister sees an acupuncturist in Tempe, a town outside Phoenix proper, and she pays $65 per visit, including the first visit. I am an acupuncturist in Cottonwood, 1-1/2 hours north of Phoenix outside of Sedona, and I charge $85 for the first visit, $65 for follow-ups, and offer a discount return visit fee for seniors over age 65, of $35. Most acupuncturists in Phoenix charge much more than I or Chris do. The economic base where I live is significantly lower than in Phoenix, since there is no real industry here, and a lot of retirees. I'm also newly offering a sliding-scale community clinic during specific hours of my workweek, with the scale being $15-$35 per visit plus a $10 processing fee on the first visit. During the winter months, I see more retirees, since this season aggravates their aches and pains. I have also found it necessary to take another job, doing NADA treatments at a residential addiction treatment center in Sedona, to supplement my income - particularly during the winter months. Winter being the slow season for our tourist economy, most of the locals who make their living off the tourists have little discretionary income from December through mid-February. I do not bill insurance, and this is figured into my fees, which otherwise would be higher. Where I live, few people have insurance that covers acupuncture anyway. Good luck, and call if you'd like to come up for a visit! Traditional Oriental Medicine 753 N.
