Guest guest
Mr. Rosenberg, Do you recall that we had discussion on the St as distributing Qi to the ZangFu as per the NanJing chapter 30? It has occupied my mind for some time..... In the Japanese tradition of Meridian Therapy there's a very interesting twist to theory following up on this particular issue. It states that the Sp is extreme Yin in Yin (Kidney is " regular " Yin in Yin) moderating the four directions/seasons/Zang and as such the only Yang Qi it pocesses is intention through which it commands the St to distribute it's produce of Qi, Blood and bodyfluids as Ying and Wei Qi to the ZangFu through the dispersive action of the Lung (channel) - similar to what Mr. Kokko suggested, however slightly less complicated. This could explain the statement in the NanJing and the importance of the St pulse as moderator of the pulse as a prognostically significant parametre as well as placing greater importance on the Sp and St than originally seen in the NanJing, and at the same time it define very different Sp/St patterns than seen in ie TCM nowadays. For instance it follows that if the organ which is extreme Yin in Yin - the Sp - would receive heat it would be deadly. It follows that the Sp Zang cannot be in excess since it will revert all heat to the St or St channel an organ prone to heat excess - I must get around to the Pi Wei Lun one of these days to compare theories I have been testing above mentioned theories out for a short while in clinic, but results could be indicative that this approach could be clinically justifiable. Interesting stuff...... Best regards, Thomas Sorensen Acupuncturist, PA, RAB Denmark
