(I can still remember her calling the author of said manual > " nothing but a hairdresser " in another forum. She is a hairdresser. I met Sylla years ago, took a class from her (1990). Held in her hairdressing salon. She stated that AT's could be licensed soon by the state of Florida. Liked her, but knew she was full of hot air. She also handed out xeroxed, unauthorized copies of other's works at that class. I knew then where her ethics stood. You, Marge, are the one who constantly attacks me, so just quit it. It's become boring and tiresome, like your lies to the owner of another group why I threw you off my NP group. (I forwarded her the evidence.) You also said I made fun of your limp on another group, when I had no idea you limped. I was quoting someone who said you looked like the character named " " (omitted here. Stop lying and stop shilling her book. >You might also take a look at Martin's page...where he still recommends the >book. >(He was also a contributing editor.) Those who know Martin, know the story behind that, and I'm not at liberty to say anything. Let's see if his name is on Sylla's 'revised' fairy tale, eh? Chris isn't going to be happy with my reply, but I refuse to allow Marge to continually spread lies. Feh. I guess I could have ignored it, for the sake of the goup's 'tone', but I have a right to defend myself to her continual lies. http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady
Guest guest
Sylla's manual might have some bugs.. BUT it's still the best there is on comprehensive learning, not just a pretty coffetable book IMHO.. Tell me of one AT book that has an easy to understand table of the chemical compositions one has to understand , easily tabled and put into sections... show mw a book that breaks down the herbal ( infusion, tincture) use of oils, the chemical process of each individual herb that undergoes either a tincture, tea or essential oil.. Nada.. Martin has the best there is to know about the warnings of essential oils, his course most likely ( I have not taken it ) would be the best 'down to the meat' one could find., he is just that kind of a guy... he explains best the sensitivity issue, every newcomer to oils should understand. Marge has one of the best comprehensive 'run' downs' on essential oils there is to be found on a website, good knowledge and work went into that and I always recommend newcomers to read it and Martin's stuff. Hope this was not nitpicking, not meant to be. I've got 12 books on AT and still just navigate with Sylla, Marge and Martin. Forget the pretty pictures, just give me easily understood to the bones , true to knowledge book. C-M
Guest guest
I have been reading all that has been said about this book and that book. I find that I have to make my own decisions about what I believe is real and what is copied from somewhere else. I find that sometimes we let our judgement be lead astray until we are able to unearth the truth. I'm not saying that any one persons book is the best or worst I find that each person compliments each other in ways that even they didn't expect too do. I know that I'm new to the list but this is how I feel about it. Kathy - cmaria 5/5/2004 1:53:13 PM Re: Re: Sylla's book Sylla's manual might have some bugs..
