I have a client that also had these. I have made a blend using Ylang ylang, Sandalwood, Lavender, Cardamom, Bergamot & Neroli. I think it has been successful for them, so maybe you could try blending some for yourself. You can also contact me off-list for additional information. Wishing you good luck, Sandi Thompson, R.A. Guest guest
Hi, Sarah. You might also want to check out the effects of magnesium and potassium for the heart palpitations. My daughter, when under a lot of stress, has similar problems. Her heart would race, and it would beat so hard you could see her body move from it. (Had the heart checked and monitored, but no physiological problems could be found at the time.) It would also become irregular and skip a beat every so often. She has 3 kids, and doesn't like doing the drug/medicine bit. A naturopath suggested using those minerals, and they help her a lot. Just a suggestion - but again, research and check with a holistic care provider about them and appropriate dosage. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I second the magnesium for anxiety attacks. I have them and take a magnesium/C combo which helps a lot with the heart palpitations. C-M
Guest guest
Hi Sarah, First of all, I must say that I'm quite shocked that any modern Doc is subscribing Valium to anyone. Valium along with Sobril, are known adictives (hmm, right word??) tranquelizers - once you get " hocked " there is no easy way out. So my first advice is to get help from some doc with a deep and good knowledge of psycoligical disorders. I knwo that many frown at medications, but in some cases they are a good bridge to be able to live through these horrible attacks. OK, confession time - no pills I have tried have made these attacks go (or stay) away, but they have eased the most horrible ones. My second advice is to find a good therapist, with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as their main focus. I must say, of all the things that have mattered the most, this type of therapy is extremely good for panic attack disporders. Not that they take away these attacks, but you get tools to use during these moments when you are sure your' gonna die any second ;-) Like focusing on breathing, relaxation, visualizing and not the least - learn that it's not fatal. Thirdly, thanks to input on this fabulous group, I made myself two different bottles of smelling salt. In one I put Rose Otto, Lavender, Clary Sage, Sandalwood and Clementine - in the other I put Neroli, Clary Sage, vetiver and Lavender. The second blend is the one that have worked the best for me. Hope this helped in any small way. Fragrant Blessings, Ylva I also
Guest guest
Sarah, I don't have anything to add, just wanted to say 'Welcome' to a fellow Bunny person. I'm in So Cal, and former vice President of the Southern California Wolly Rabbit Club. I have a retired pet smoke pearl Jersey Wooly. I just noticed you handle and wanted to say welcome to the group.
