OT: Ronald Reagan Tribute

morning butch,

yes, reagan was one of the only presidents that could pull off

that type of talk and did it alot.

my husband is a retired EOD, NCO. he served under many

our presidents in the special capasity, along with the FBI and

CIA during the election campaigns. it was a very long and

tiring job, with little or no recognition. the reagan's were the

only presidentcial couple to extend a thank you, all the way

down to the troups that did the dirty work behind the scenes.

somewhere around here, we have an autographed picture of

the two of them that came with the thank you.

i'm sure that even with ms nancy's greiving, she's releived that

all of mr. reagan's suffering is over. it has been a long hard battle

for both them and family. i wish her peace.

Just this morning I was thinking about his words alongside the Berlin

Wall. I tried to imagine how they would have sounded coming from any of

the presidents who have served during my lifetime .. and I came to the

conclusion that only the Great Communicator could have said those words,

" Mr. Gorbachev .. tear down this wall! " without sounding threatening ..

the look on his face at the time was one of strength and compassion.

For me .. which is enough for me .. President Ronald Reagan will always

be a true American Hero .. and I will never forget him. :-) Butch
