program! lol Also, could you elaborate on what you mean by saying " old

forests should be harvested " ? I'm assuming (there I go thinking again, or

as my friend use to say " ASS-sume " ) you mean tap the trees and not cut down

the whole forest?

Hey Chris,

 

First .. I thank you for posting all the facts on Sandalwood .. I have

been writing on this subject for years but folks forget opposition to

their ideas when they must stick to those ideas in order to continue to

be what they think they are .. or go out and find a real job.

 

Secondly .. I am surprised to see that you are such a cruel person. I

mean, don't you realize that by bursting those balloons of hype and

presenting information such as that you are weakening the foundations of

of a Crusade that depends on misinformation and emotion to exist?

 

I've not met Chrissie Wildwood .. but she did once send me an e-mail

that sorta pissed me off. She said she had thought I was an intelligent

person so she was shocked to see that I sold Sandalwood and Rosewood.

I didn't answer her .. though I did contact one of her friends and told

that person that I was not going to answer because I didn't like to use

four letter words in e-mails.

 

Her presumptive and pompous attitude made me decide that I didn't want

to meet her in the future. When someone proposes that others are not

intelligent unless they swallow the crap they are being fed then I want

to avoid them altogether .. and in my eyes they lose credibility in all

future endeavors.

 

There has never been a doubt in my mind that many of the Greens and such

truly don't give a rat's butt about the environment .. their motives are

far from altruistic .. its just that they need a cause to rally around

or else they too would have to seek real employment. And there are, of

course, exceptions .. but I think they are just that .. exceptions.

 

The same ones who scream about use of fossil fuels also scream about use

of atomic energy .. and usually drive 4 WD SUVs. And the same ones who

scream about conserving natural resources also scream about the need to

save the poverty stricken folks of the Earth and increase their expected

time above snakes .. but by doing so we are placing greater pressure on

our natural resources .. we cannot have it both ways at present.

 

It is so easy to criticize .. but normally the Tree Huggers and Greens

can do only that .. they propose no credible alternatives because they

are not dealing with reality .. they are dealing in idealistic dogma.

 

I use the terms " Tree Huggers " and " Greens " in a negative context since

that is how I see them. I don't see people with legitimate concerns for

mankind or the environment as being under that umbrella.

 

I have supported the Cousteau Society and Ducks Unlimited .. along with

the Kentucky Conservation Clubs for most of my life. Lately, I have

begun to support a Raptor Rehabilitation and Release program in Turkey.

 

But I have never climbed a tree and chained myself because I wanted to

be on TV as one who opposed the harvest of OLD forests .. which should

be harvested. I have never tried to stop a 600 foot ship with zillions

of tons of Petrol on it by pulling in front of it with a Zodiac dingy

and expecting it to stop without knowing that it takes forty-eleven

miles to do that .. and even 5-6 miles to turn 5 degrees Starboard. But

they do this in the Bosporus all the time because someday there MIGHT be

a spill .. and this disregards the fact that sailing the Black Sea and

entering the Bosporus and the Dardanelles is the ONLY way to get to warm

water from Russia .. except for 3-4 months in the Summer.

 

Its not just some Aromatherapists who depend on Urban Legends .. or use

bad science to peddle their products or their value to the human race.

Its also the Tree Hugging Greens who use this to justify their presence

and their desire and willingness to violate laws and endanger themselves

and others in what they call good causes. When the causes they choose

to rally around are exposed as non problems then their choices are to

try to slam the bearers of bad news (as does Young Living), or totally

disregard the facts and drive on, or find another sword to fall on.

I would expect that somewhere around 98% plus of the civilized folks in

the world will agree that we should not poison the environment and we

should do all we can to keep natural resources from being squandered.

And I would also expect that maybe 98% of that 98% are like the many

activists out and about .. they have no viable alternatives to propose.

Once past emotion .. the protests are useless as tits on a boar hog.

 

In any case, everybody needs to feel they're doing something worthwhile.

Some are truly doing this .. others create fictional situations that

give them publicity .. allow them to sell books .. allow them to violate

laws and get moral support from the masses .. and in general, do what

they can to feed their egos. Ralph Nader .. one who has made a name by

working to prove that all government and industry is corrupt .. is now

under investigation for multiple violations of tax laws .. he has used

one of his charities to front his next unsuccessful campaign to run for

President as an independent.
