Yo Buffy,

OK .. but it is a promotion .. and I have no problem with promotions.

Its all about capitalism which I believe is the finest economic system

in the world.

And protecting one's products against those of potential competitors is

a part of capitalism .. which is what I was doing with my post. ;-)

>>because as of today 1 British Sterling is 1.82976 USD .. and 50

>>mls of the product costs 25 Sterling .. $45.75 .. plus $13.50

>>shipping = $59.25 per 50 ml bottle. ;-)

I think they made an error. It hasn't been below 1.75 in 8-9 months.

I think Rodale is not going to turn down writing on something that is

already accepted by those in certain places .. and I get the impression

that this company runs in the fast lane .. with the Jet Setters. Maybe

one of the British list members will comment on that.

Might be interesting to try some of those EO and see if they work. But

I am surprised that only this lady has discovered and recognized such a

thing .. its the type of discovery that should make news worldwide ..

like http://www.av-at.com/catnip.html ......... and

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2001/08/010828075659.htm

And another one I have in hard copy .. as a HerbalGram from the American

Botanical Council.

> I realize I have no clue who the London School of Hygiene, blah,

> blah is, but many people will pick up this magazine and say " Oh

> boy, here's the answer to West Nile, " even though the article

> doesn't mention that.

They might be legit .. and the product might work. But having been

tried and tested " In the London School of Hygiene " does not mean a lot

from a point of effectiveness. And they're certainly gouging customers

at that price.

They claim it is natural .. then say its as natural as " possible, " which

makes me think it might contain DEET.

That school is here http://www.lshtm.ac.uk/

Martin or one of the other list members from the UK might know what the

London School of Hygiene really is .. and really does.

> I was just asking for comments regarding the oils used in the formula

> since we have so many knowledgeable people on this list.

I have no knowledge of any chemical component in Lavender, or Melissa

(though its a Melissa extract) .. but possibly some chemical components

of Geranium could repel some insects .. at least I have heard that the

flowers themselves can do that.

And I question them calling it an " anti-bug " formula as all bugs/insects

are not affected or deterred by the same things.

But again .. it might be great .. they are a cosmetics company and I'm

not familiar with British (or EU) regs enough to know what level of

testing and acceptance they would need to make such claims.

> Hey, great to see you back. Hope you got rested up!

Thankee ma'am .. and I am about to answer your post to me on a

particular oil. ;-)

> Buffy

Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
