Guest guest
Well...the first thing to do is to start having sex and lots of it....!!! ;-D I am only being partly silly here....one doctor I talked with about the seeming decrease in fertility said that they reckon part of it is do to the fact that couples actually have less time to " do it " these days, and actually do it less often than they will even admit to their doctors. So there are couples out there being treated for infertility who actually could just use with a romantic weekend away from tv/computers/cell phones etc etc that all fill up our time free for loving... And then...just enjoy... it's a magical time. As for determining the gender... in France here they often talk about yoghurt used as a douche being helpful, but danged if I can remember which sex that promotes... someone else might have heard of that... Have fun! Guest guest
GO ON VACATION! or move. anything to take your mind OFF the baby dance! in my mind, nothing worst then concentrating on the baby dance. just makes it harder. i concentrated on it to the point of crying myself to sleep because it didn't happen after so much trying. took us 3 yrs the for the first one. lots of tears in those 3 yrs. then hubby had to pcs. way to much to do to think about such things. in fact, after 4 children, i can tell you that each one was conceived while in the process of a pcs move! all i can say about it is, don't make it the most important thing in your lives, jen. it will happen when it's time to happen. my brother and his wife went thru all sorts of tests and heartache. after 10 yrs, they just decided that it wasn't to be. while tobogganing down a winter slope, pat realized that she was pg. after 10 yrs of all sorts of medical tests and procedures. only have one thing to say about the baby. eat right. have the body in tip-top shape. i have all boyz. hubby always drank lots of coffee. don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. don't know that i could handle a girl but am very blessed with my boyz. the creator knows what he's doing. and to all the new parents and grandparents on the list, congrats! there is nothing like new life to give old life a boost! enjoy them, they grow so fast! wonderful names for these little ones. deb c chillicothe, mo. > >Conception advise and wisdom? > >OK, we've waited the 3 months for MMR vaccine to deadline to wear off, >and now we have a green light to " start the baby dance. Guest guest
Start your prenatal vitamins and RELAXXXXXXXXXX! Let go of control and let Nature take its course. " You get what you get and don't throw a fit. " What you want and what you get are two different things. You will get what you NEED. So, sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Best wishes! Teresea C. Guest guest
Start IMMEDIATELY on prenatal vitamins, even though you are not yet pregnant. The vitamins will get your body prepared and the folic acid in the prenatals are crucial for the first two weeks of pregnancy for brain and spinal development. It doesn't hurt for any female of childbearing age to be on prenatals - even young girls of teenage years. This is absolutely not an endorsement for young ladies to get pregnant, it just will help your body prepare the way. Barb
Guest guest
I know people with long hair who take prenatal vitamins because some people think it's got all sorts of nutrients good for growing hair. Don't know if it's true, never cared so much as to try it....and since I don't ever want to have kids, can't think of another reason to take them personally. I seem to remember them telling us in a science class a couple years ago that the 'female " sperm live longer than the male sperm, but the male sperm swim faster...so if conception occurs right away, it's more likely to be a boy, but if it happens a couple days " after the fact " then the male sperm have died off...so I guess it would require use of an ovulation predictor. I don't know if it's true, of course, because I never heard it in any other bio class and haven't heard that particular story before or since, but hey, could be worth a try. -K , " Barb Jenson " <ravensara@o...> wrote: > Start IMMEDIATELY on prenatal vitamins, even though you are not yet pregnant. We are going to give it a try for the heck of it, but like a PP metioned we are going to get what we need, and I'm happy with healthy and safe. Guest guest
Hi, Jen. A number of years ago a client/friend of mine asked me to make a massage oil to help her daughter get pregnant. Hmmm. Tall order!! Anyway, I made one (4 oz.) that had some jasmine, sandalwood, bergamot and ylang-ylang in it. With it were instructions to use in full body massages (if they made it that far) several times a week. Of course, you need the soft music and candles to go along with it. Lo and behold, a few months later my friend came into my office glowing, that she was finally going to be a grandma. I think that the profound relaxation produced by the massage and the relaxing romantic aromas of the oils did the trick. Key words: Relax and enjoy. My 2 cents worth. :-) Love and light, Angela Experience Serenity http://serenity.boulderhealers.com/ > Sat, 03 Jul 2004 07:58:29 -0000 > " nsorcel " <jen > Conception advise and wisdom? > > OK, we've waited the 3 months for MMR vaccine to deadline to wear off, > and now we have a green light to " start the baby dance. Guest guest
Remember adoption is always a choice. There are always too many children that need homes. And I always admire the people that can provide good stable loving homes for needdy children. David Roman

Right now, we are overseas and have only been married a year. So getting a homestudy would be darn near immpossible, and many many countries/agencies require you to have been married for more than 3 years. I find it irritating that governments put SO many restrictions on adoption, while part of me understands, the other part wonders at the children sitting there suffering, while the gov't spins it wheels.... I'm not a person who would spend tens of thousands of dollars on fertility treatments - not that I judge those who do, it's just not for me. Adoption IS an option that we do plan to pursue in the future - fertility or no. Thanks for the reminder! JenB
Guest guest
Hiya Jen, Happy baby making <grinz> Probably the best thing to do is to relax and NOT try to have a baby *lol* That's when most folks get preggie (ask me how I know this twice over ;-p). Seriously though, I know folks time and time again who had trouble getting pregnant and once they stopped trying - BAM - baby came! Latest story I heard about that was from my neighbor across the street. She has a daughter graduating college a 6 yr old and a 4 yr old. She told me that the reason the spacing was so far apart was they tried for #2 for years and couldn't get pregnant. Finally after exhausting all options, except fertility drugs, they decided to adopt and a month before all that was supposed to go through she found out she was pregnant. Then #3 was TOTALLY unplanned. Also, the herb false unicorn (Chamaelirium luteum) is VERY beneficial to both the male and female reproductive systems and enhances fertility. It is said that if you don't want to get pregnant don't even go near a sealed jar of that herb *lol* Lastly, consider charting your cycle. There is a fabulous book out there called " Taking Charge Of Your Fertility " by Toni Weschler. IMHO a must read for any woman of child bearing age, whether one wants children or not! As I said in the beginning - happy baby making *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com nsorcel [jen] OK, we've waited the 3 months for MMR vaccine to deadline to wear off, and now we have a green light to " start the baby dance. Guest guest
My mom told me that too, that the male sperm die faster than the female. All I know is that we worked on it every night when I was ovulating, even the night before! So, something worked there. You figure those female sperm lived the extra day when I started ovulating, they were first in line!! My DH has two boys from a previous marriage and it is the male that determines the sex of the baby so I figured we would have another boy (I have a boy from a previous marriage), but low and behold, we had a girl!! Whoo hooo and very spoiled she is with all her big brothers looking out for her!! We married in January and I was pregnant in April! Of course that was 6 and 1/2 years ago, but she is our pride and joy!! Always wears dresses, but acts like her brothers!!
