Bozenna, my pedicure person, says that she has read that oil of oregano is

good to kill the fungus in my toe nails. Do you guys have any information on

this? I imagine there are many kinds of oregano.

Wow! what a father. Thank you. I see Butch says it takes a long time and

oregano could cause an allergy.

MANY years ago my grandfather was given some kind of oregano oil pill

for some ailment by his doctor. Heaven help me I can't remember what it

was for, or dose or anything - but I DO remember him raving about how it

killed the toe nail fungus he had for over 30 years and it never came

back!

I'll try to get some details from him next time I talk to him. He

doesn't remember details of lots of things these days, UNLESS it was

what pills he took when and what surgeries he had and when. Then he has

a photographic memory ;-p

Hi Jan,

Yes, I do believe that it would take some time using oregano (or

anything) internally to get rid of a nail infection. But I also am

pretty sure that the potential for oregano to be a sensitizer or

irritant comes from external use rather than internal use.

But as I said, I don't know off hand how much my Grandpa took and for

how long, so I'm not exactly recommending anything. Heck, even if I did

know how much and for how long all I can say is what he did, and what

I'd do, but can't actually " recommend " it for anyone cause I ain't a

doctor, so we don't go there ;)
