While listening to Art Bell tonight I heard something said like this,

George Washington said something like " Those who surrender essential Liberty "

I did not get the rest of it, but have heard this a couple of times. Can

anyone finish this??????????? It sounded like something we should listen to and

could really apply to us today. thanks sharon

I think the one you are thinking of is

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety

deserve neither liberty nor safety.

And I believe it was Benjamin Franklin who said it.

And you're right about it applying just as much today:-(

I have Benjamin Franklin as saying it that saying sits on my board right in

front of my computer, the trouble is every time we have a new law made for our

safety that is exactly what we are doing giving up our freedom, but most of us

don`t look at it that way!
